Agricultural and pastoral production
  • The Harappa society was a civilization that relied on a system of agricultural means to make a successful economy.
  • Through agricalture they got enough food to allow them to have other people with special jobs.
Trade and Commerce
  • The Harappa society engaged in trade, both domestic and foriegn. For example they traded pottery, tools, and decorative items all around the Indus Valley.
  • They had e two major trade routes between them and the Mesopotamians and the Egyptians.
Labor Systems
  • The way that the jobs were given out was in a way of the rich got the best jobs that required the least amount of work while the poor got the labor intensive jobs.
Industrialization
  • The cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro were so advanced that the builders there were able to build everything to a certain weight and size.
Capitalism and socialism
  • It is thought that Harappan cities were economic and political centers for their own regions.
